What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function and remember information about your visit.
Public website (gethemma.app — before login)
The public website does not use third-party analytics tools, advertising cookies, or tracking scripts.
The public site may use limited browser local storage for language preference and a pseudonymous session identifier used for funnel measurement. This data is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
We also record basic usage events (such as page views and button clicks) server-side in our own database in aggregate form. These events are not intended to identify individual visitors.
Logged-in application
Once you log in, Hemma uses the following cookies and local storage.
Essential cookies (required)
These are strictly necessary for the application to function. They do not require your consent.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
authjs.session-token | Keeps you logged in | 30 days |
authjs.csrf-token | Security protection against cross-site attacks | Session |
authjs.callback-url | Remembers where to redirect after login | Session |
Analytics cookies (optional — your choice)
We use PostHog (configured with EU data storage in Frankfurt) to understand how the application is used — which features are helpful, where people get stuck, and how the product can be improved.
PostHog analytics uses your user ID (not your name or email) to link events to an account. This means usage data is pseudonymous, not anonymous.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ph_* | PostHog product analytics — pseudonymous usage tracking | 1 year |
PostHog analytics does not:
- Track you across other websites
- Build an advertising profile
- Share data with third parties for marketing
- Use your data to train AI models
PostHog analytics does:
- Record which features you use (linked to your user ID, not your name)
- Track navigation patterns within the application
- Help us understand where the product needs improvement
PostHog analytics is only active when you opt in. You can disable it at any time from your account settings.
No advertising cookies
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not work with advertising networks. We do not retarget you on other websites.
Local storage
On the public website
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
hemma-lang | Stores your selected language preference |
hemma-funnel-session | Stores a pseudonymous session identifier used to understand the steps visitors take in the pricing funnel |
This data stays on your device. hemma-funnel-session is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
In the logged-in application
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Calendar view preference | Remembers your preferred calendar view (week, month, schedule) |
This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.
Internal product telemetry
Separately from PostHog, Hemma records product events in our own database. These events are linked to your account and are used for service operation, cost monitoring, and product improvement. This telemetry is described in more detail in our Privacy Policy.
How to control cookies
