Deleting your account

Deleting your account is permanent. Before you do, make sure you have downloaded any documents or budget data you want to keep — Hemma cannot recover deleted accounts.

01Before you delete

A few things to consider:

  • If you are the only member of a project, deleting your account also deletes that project and everything in it — documents, budget, milestones, contractors. There is no undo.
  • If the project has other members, it stays and they keep access. You are simply removed.
  • If you use a connected cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive), files that were already copied there remain untouched.

02How to delete your account

  1. Go to Settings → Danger zone.
  2. Click Delete account.
  3. A confirmation dialog asks you to type "I want to delete my account" exactly.
  4. Click Delete permanently.

Your account is deleted immediately. You are signed out and cannot sign in again with that email address.

03What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, Hemma removes:

  • Your user profile (name, email, language preference)
  • Your sessions and magic link tokens
  • Your notification preferences and push subscriptions
  • Your membership on all projects (and any project where you were the sole member)
  • Documents and assets you uploaded
  • Invites you sent to others

04What stays

  • Projects you were a member of (but not sole owner of) remain intact for the other members
  • Documents uploaded by other members are not affected
  • Files already copied to your cloud storage provider remain there

05Common questions

Can I get my account back after deleting it? No. Account deletion is hard and immediate. If you want to rejoin a project later, another member will need to send you a fresh invite.

What happens to the project email address? If you were the sole owner of a project, that project email address is released when the project is deleted. Nobody else can claim it.

I just want a break, not a permanent deletion. You do not need to delete your account to stop using Hemma. Just close the tab. You can sign in again whenever you like — nothing expires.

Should I disconnect my integrations first? You do not have to. Deleting your account revokes the OAuth connections automatically. Files already synced to your cloud storage stay there.
