Hemma has a built-in AI chat that knows your numbers. Ask a question in plain language and it looks at your invoices, quotes, contractors and budget, and searches your emails and notes (with links to the source so you can verify it yourself).
Hemma answers questions based on what is in your project:
One boundary worth knowing: Hemma does not read the text inside a file you uploaded. It knows a document's name, its type, and the fields that were extracted from it (amounts, dates, VAT number). It cannot quote a clause from a contract or a line from a specification.
Hemma does not know things outside your project. It cannot look up public records, access the internet, or answer general construction questions.
Hemma is a read-only assistant. It answers questions, it does not take actions on your behalf. It will not pay an invoice, send an email, or update your budget. It also does not make predictions or estimates beyond what is in your project data.
If Hemma does not find an answer, it says so clearly rather than guessing, and points you at the screen where the answer does live, with a link when it already found something.
The Hemma chat is in the main navigation. Look for the chat icon or "Talk to Hemma" link.
You can ask up to 20 questions per hour. This limit resets every hour. If you hit it, wait a few minutes and try again.
Does Hemma learn from my questions? Hemma uses your questions only to answer them. Questions are logged in a privacy-safe way (names and amounts are stripped) to help improve the product, but they are not used to train AI models on your data.
Can I ask in Dutch or French? Yes. Ask in whatever language you like: Hemma always answers in the language set on your profile.
Hemma gave me a wrong answer. The AI has access only to what is in your project. If a document was not processed correctly, the answer may reflect that error. Follow the source link in the response to check the underlying data. If something is wrong with a document, see reviewing and correcting what the AI extracted.
